Determined and driven since birth, Hector Pantoja, an alumnus of the Earl Woods Scholar Program, conquered language barriers, overcame insecurities, proved doubting teachers wrong and excelled through college.

Raised by two generations of school teachers, Hector grew up fully grasping the intrinsic power of education. He knew, from a very young age, just how transformative it would be in his life. Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, some of Hector’s earliest memories are of reading and writing with his mother, a kindergarten teacher, beginning at the young age of three.

Hear more about Hector’s inspiring journey as an immigrant, son, student and Earl Woods Scholar. As you hear of his experiences first-hand, you’ll learn what it means to be an Unrelenting Champion.

The Earl Woods Scholar Program prepares students to attend and graduate from universities across the nation. Supporting the best and brightest scholars from underrepresented communities, the program holds a 98% graduation rate, among the highest in the U.S. In addition to financial assistance, selected Earl Woods Scholars benefit from personal and professional workshops, a dedicated mentor, internship placement assistance and more.
