The Tiger Woods Foundation joins the 12 percent of charities that have received the highest possible honor from America’s top charity evaluator three years in a row.
The prestigious four-star rating is awarded to charities that demonstrate sound fiscal management and a commitment to accountability and transparency.
The rating indicates that “the Tiger Woods Foundation outperforms most other charities in America,” Charity Navigator founder John B. Dugan wrote in a letter to Tiger Woods Foundation CEO Rick Singer.
Dugan continued on to say that the rating “differentiates Tiger Woods Foundation from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
“TWF works hard to ensure that our donors can have confidence in their investment,” Kathy Bihr, Tiger Woods Foundation vice president of education and programs, said regarding the honor. “Receiving the four-star rating from Charity Navigator is validation for our donors that their investment will be going exactly where they want it to go.”
Forbes, Business Week and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, among others, have all profiled Charity Navigator’s unique evaluation methods. Charity Navigator rates 10 times more charities than its nearest competitor, and it is estimated that Charity Navigator has influenced roughly $10 billion in charitable gifts.
