The Earl Woods Scholar Program was created in 2006 to honor the vision and spirit of Earl Woods, Tiger’s father and mentor, and continue his legacy of sharing and caring.
Open to high school juniors and seniors, the program provides support beyond financial aid through mentorship, personal and professional development workshops and internship placement assistance to ensure students earn their bachelor’s degrees and navigate successful professional careers.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Graduating high school senior from a geographic area and/or high school that has been invited to apply.Â
- A 3.0 minimum GPA on a 4.0 scale.Â
- Demonstrated financial need Â
- Commitment to community serviceÂ
- Plans to enroll full-time in a four-year degree program, at a U.S. accredited, not-for-profit, private or public university immediately upon high school graduation.Â
- Participation in mandatory in-person summer Pre-College Retreat and Scholarship OrientationÂ

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEÂ
- Annual college scholarship award is renewable for up to four years.Â
- Each Earl Woods Scholar is partnered with a dedicated mentor who serves as an advocate, career coach, personal advisor and role model throughout their college experience.Â
- An emphasis on real-life work experience is highly encouraged among the Earl Woods Scholars through specialized internships offering career-building opportunities while helping students prepare for the workplace and increase their skills and knowledge in their chosen profession.Â
- Each scholar is prepared for a clear and focused exit strategy upon their transition from college into the next stages of their career path. The Earl Woods Scholar is provided support and coaching in areas of grad school prep and/or developing practical skills for navigating entry into the career market.Â
- The Earl Woods Scholar Program provides two-to-three interactive learning and engagement opportunities for the scholars annually, and virtual workshops on a variety of topicsÂ
