In collaboration with our community, we work to close opportunity gaps for students from under-resourced communities. Our programs provide students with the support and resources needed to discover their passions, deepen their knowledge and build transferable skills to prepare for personal excellence and professional success. Learn more on how you can join the movement and transform the lives of students.

The Challenge

The opportunity gap is one of the widest-reaching issues in our society today. It is the way factors uncontrollable by an individual can contribute to lower rates of success in educational achievement, career prospects and other life aspirations.

Students from under-resourced communities are often left behind without access to quality education and opportunities for college and careers.

Our work is built on the vision of our founder, Tiger Woods, for a world where opportunity is universal and potential is limitless. For more than 25 years, we have been committed to providing opportunities for students through education. But there is more work to do.

Closing the Gap

We are expanding and enhancing our programming by providing students with the resources and support needed to discover their passions, deepen their knowledge, and gain transferable skills to align with their career interests.

As we look to a rapidly changing world and economy, we are working to provide our students with pathways to connect their passions to their purpose through;

  • Inspiring Learning Spaces at the TGR Learning Lab
  • College Access Resources
  • Career Preparation Programming

The TGR Learning Lab features state-of-the-art technology, common spaces and classrooms with year-round programming to inspire students to learn, grow and thrive.

  • After-school and summer classes for 6-12th– grade students.
  • Week-long immersive STEM field-trips for 5th grade students and their teachers.
  • Non-traditional course offerings exposing students to today’s careers including cyber security, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, podcasting, drone technology and more.
  • College access and career exploration is integrated into all classes.

College Access

  • Workplace readiness workshops to provide students with transferable knowledge and skills for tomorrow’s careers
  • Industry panels, job shadow days, pre-internship support and more to expose students to real-life experiences and connect with industry professionals.

Gordon McNeill: A Champion of Education

At Sage Hill School in Newport Beach, Gordon McNeill climbed from dean of students to head of school and, finally, to president, helping build up the young campus and its culture.

But, after 19 years, McNeill decided it was time for a new challenge.

Last August, he accepted a position as president and CEO of the Irvine-based TGR Foundation, one of famed golfer Tiger Woods’ charities, which works to bring educational opportunities to underserved youths through STEM classes, college-access programs and professional development courses for teachers, both through in-person and virtual sessions.
