TGR Foundation experienced a year of growth and transformation in 2025. As I reflect on the year, I’m grateful for our team, who united with an unwavering commitment to our mission of empowering students to pursue their passions in every season.
Throughout the year, we made great progress toward Tiger’s vision of positively impacting the lives of more students nationwide through education. The cutting of the ribbon to our second TGR Learning Lab was a significant milestone, yet it was just one of the many ways we expanded our reach and impact.
Program Expansion
On September 8, 2025, our founder, Tiger Woods, was joined by students, distinguished guests and executive leadership from TGR Foundation and Cobbs Creek Foundation to officially cut the ribbon to the Smilow Woodland TGR Learning Lab in West Philadelphia. This momentous occasion came five months after we first opened the doors to local students in April for a soft launch. It was a thrill to join Tiger and celebrate alongside our community. It has been even more meaningful to see the impact we are already having on the lives of young people who live in that community. Our programs launched at capacity, ultimately serving 6,436 young people at the Lab. Fatima, the Learning Lab member who spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony, said it best when describing the Lab; “Over the past year I’ve made incredible memories, made lifelong friends and had opportunities I never thought I had access to, a second home, filled with possibilities, purpose and people who truly care”.
The TGR Learning Lab Anaheim celebrated its 19th year serving the community. During the 2024-25 academic year, our flagship Lab introduced several new program offerings and special events including science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) based clubs and teams along with a revamped golf program. I am proud of the team for their great work in reaching more students, resulting in 11,331 participants in Anaheim programs.
We also piloted our new teen career readiness strategy at both Labs with positive early outcomes. 82% of program participants learned steps to pursue a career of interest and learned about the job responsibilities of industry professionals. In addition to these new programmatic offerings at our Learning Labs, we expanded the reach of our Earl Woods Scholar Program to the New York-New Jersey area. Through a partnership with Liberty National Golf Club, we established an endowment for the Liberty National Cohort of Earl Woods Scholars. I am proud of the ways we extended our reach in 2025. In total, we saw an 86% increase in total program participants. All this tremendous growth and impact would not have been possible without the incredible support from our community.
Construction of the Lulu’s Place campus progressed, bringing us closer to opening our third TGR Learning Lab in Los Angeles, early 2027. Tiger also announced plans to bring a new Learning Lab to Augusta, Georgia in 2028. Working with Augusta National and Chairman Ridley is a great honor, and I am excited to begin serving the Harrisburg neighborhood, one of the most under-resourced in Georgia whose school system is ranked 99 out of 100 in the state.
Intentional Impact
To better understand and report on the impact of our programs, we made significant enhancements to our data collection and analysis processes. A strong infrastructure is vital to the success of any organization as they grow, with access to quality data and outcomes paramount. Through our partnership with Stand Together, we integrated a new system to enhance the collection of surveys from all students following each program activity. The surveys now directly align with our theory of change, which is important to ensure we are delivering the strongest outcomes possible. Over the course of the academic year, we collected over 10,000 surveys from program participants. This effort provided great feedback, providing real-time insight of our impact and allowing us to adjust program as needed to ensure continuous positive results.
Two data points I am especially excited about are that members reported a significant increase in knowledge about STEAM subjects and confidence in STEAM abilities (a 48% and 28% increase respectively from pre and post survey results). Those are meaningful improvements, especially considering that the increase came after just one six-week session. Young people who have been exposed to STEAM subjects and are confident in their abilities are more willing to try new things and pursue opportunities available beyond our walls. I invite you to view our annual report to learn more about our programs and outcomes.
Community & Resilience
While 2025 was a year of great growth for the organization, it also came with many significant challenges. The year started with the devastating Los Angeles area fires which led to the relocation of The Genesis Invitational from Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades to San Diego. Our TGR Live events team did a tremendous job to not only execute a world class PGA TOUR event in support of TGR Foundation, but it also helped drive impact in our broader community. We partnered with Genesis to support our neighbors through the California Rises initiative, directing proceeds from the tournament to relief and recovery efforts of those affected by the fires.
Another challenge felt across the Foundation was the loss of Tiger’s mother, Kultida “Tida” Woods. The news of her passing was met with care and compassion from our community. Although we said goodbye to Tida, we continue to honor her and the impact she had on many lives around the world. Beyond her role alongside Tiger on our board of governors, she was committed to supporting orphanages for girls and schools for children with disabilities in her home country of Thailand.
As we work together to empower students in under-resourced communities, the Woods family legacy continues to light our path forward. Every challenge we faced was met with strength and resilience, from our founder to our staff and each young person who participated in our programs. Through all the challenges, I am proud of our reach, serving nearly 18,000 students during the 2024-25 academic year. We also welcomed new members to our leadership team and board of governors, while investing in our team of passionate professionals who bring our mission to life every day in Irvine, Anaheim, Philadelphia and beyond.
Building Legacy, Student Empowerment
As a first-generation college graduate and career educator, I know education is the cornerstone. Expanding into new markets and cutting ribbons is exciting, but the real purpose is to prepare young people for thriving careers and lives.
Our vision of a world where opportunity is universal and potential is limitless demands high expectations, which motivates performance. We know that the challenge is great, but the opportunity is greater.
Many young people in under-resourced communities lack access to high-quality educational programs and safe places to go when not in school. If we don’t step in, working alongside our community leaders, corporate partners, school districts and local educators, fewer students will reach their potential.
Support from incredible donors and partners allows us to expand. Tiger is clear that he can’t do this work alone; if we want to reach more young people, we must move into new markets alongside mission-aligned partners. Together, we can drive major change for kids, families and communities in need.
As we enter 2026, it’s a year full of great possibilities. Throughout the year we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of TGR Foundation along with 20 years of impact through the TGR Learning Lab Anaheim and Earl Woods Scholar Program. I am excited for what’s ahead and look forward to another great year of igniting passions and unlocking potential in our students!
