DoD STEM Ambassador Program

For the fifth consecutive year, we facilitated the U.S. Department of Defense STEM Ambassador program, an intensive year-long professional development program that prepares educators with skills to be STEM-powered leaders in their schools and industry.
I’m so thrilled to join the DoD STEM Ambassador Program in partnership with TGR Foundation because, as a K-8 Math Instructional Coach in West Philadelphia, I’m passionate about creating joyful and accessible STEAM learning experiences that can inspire students and educators alike. This program aligns perfectly with my dedication to fostering hands-on STEAM resources that both engage and empower learners.”

It’s important for students to realize how much they are needed in the health care workforce and that there are many ways to get there. The synergy between TGR Foundation and Providence can and should be replicated so that other Orange County organizations or major employers can invest in and contribute to a pipeline of the future health care workforce.”
-Cecilia Bustamante Pixa, senior director of community health, Providence

Partner Spotlight

In partnership with Providence, students interested in careers in health care participated in our 2nd annual student showcase at the TGR Learning Lab Anaheim. During the event, they explored various careers in health care and completed a community health needs assessment alongside Providence professionals. Each team developed potential solutions and presented to a panel of judges, with the winning team receiving a private tour of the Providence St. Jude Medical Center.

College Bound Academy has been nothing but beneficial for me. My biggest concern entering my last year of high school was how I was going to be able to pay for college. After a year of applying, I was able to win $41,710 in outside scholarships and $62,710 in total gift aid for this year. I owe my success to the help of the TGR Learning Lab community.”
