The 2026–2027 DoW STEM Ambassador Program – managed and facilitated by TGR Foundation, in partnership with the Defense STEM Education Consortium (DSEC) – is now accepting applications for its seventh cohort of educators. This prestigious program brings together educators from communities across the country to collaborate, lead and broaden opportunities for students through high-quality science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) experiences.

The DoW STEM Ambassador Program empowers educators to expand access to meaningful STEM learning and inspire the next generation of innovators. Through this national initiative, passionate educators join a community committed to advancing STEM education and career-connected opportunities for students across the country.

“I learned so much participating in this program,” said Amber Struthers, an educator and member of the fourth cohort. “I cannot express how valuable this material is for not only myself, but for the hundreds of STEM educators I have access to.”

The program is open to educators and individuals working in schools or student-serving STEM organizations who are passionate about expanding opportunities and advancing innovation in education.

Designed as a year-long experience, the program runs from September 2026 through July 2027 and supports educators in implementing meaningful work that drives impact in their communities. Through a combination of professional learning, collaboration, and real-world application, STEM Ambassadors help highlight DoW STEM career opportunities and expand access to STEM pathways for all learners.

“I’ve made life long connections and gained access to networks and resources I would not have been able to access on my own.” said Kia Thomas, who participated in cohort five. “I am grateful.”

Throughout the program, selected Ambassadors will:

  • Develop and lead an impact project that advances STEM access or outreach
  • Share best practices through presentations and a resource-focused video
  • Participate in monthly virtual community meetings
  • Attend in-person national convenings
  • Collaborate with a sponsoring organization to support their STEM outreach efforts
  • Highlight DoW STEM opportunities, resources and career pathways

Participants receive funding and resources to support their work, including a stipend, classroom supplies, and travel support for conferences and program convenings.

“The STEM Ambassador program not only adds credibility and a community, it inspires action” said Jason Morgan of cohort five.

Applications for the 2026–2027 cohort will be accepted through June 14, 2026. Educators interested in growing their leadership, amplifying their impact and joining a national community of STEM advocates are encouraged to apply.
