To prepare for a rapidly changing job market, TGR Foundation is helping students gain the skills and experiences needed to learn, grow and thrive. Through year-round programming focused on workforce development and career readiness, students are given the tools and resources needed to make informed decisions about their future.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Local high school students will participate in real-world learning experiences aligned with their career interests to enrich their high school studies and help them develop a post-secondary plan through:

  • Industry Academies co-facilitated by industry and school district partners

  • In-school, activity-based career explorer projects aligned with dedicated careers

  • Real-world work experiences such as internships, job shadowing and apprenticeships

  • Post-secondary education and workforce readiness workshops

INDUSTRY ACADEMIES

Immersive yet condensed learning experiences that will allow 9th & 10th grade students to explore high-growth industries through interactive activities, industry panels and work-based challenges, helping the students:

  • Discover the wide array of careers aligned with their interests

  • Collaborate with peers to develop solutions to real-world challenges

  • Receive industry-specific post-secondary guidance

  • Interact with industry professionals

During the academic year, high school students will participate in activity-based projects aligned with specific business units of an industry, providing opportunities for them to:

  • Accrue real-world experience and gain applicable skills

  • Job shadow and collaborate with industry professionals

  • Witness real-world impact of their work and contributions

  • The Find Your Grind assessment to discover interests and aligned career paths

  • Professional skills development

  • Career exploration and post-secondary planning

  • Certification, apprenticeship and trade programs

  • Advisor-led training, such as résumé drafting and mock interviewing

Career explorer Student experience
