TGR LEARNING LAB
TGR Foundation will operate its signature TGR Learning Lab on the campus, providing students access to education and opportunities to gain real-world experiences and skills.

The 30,000-square-foot facility will offer STEM–based school day, after-school and summer classes to upper elementary, middle and high school students.

The TGR Learning Lab will be a safe and inspiring space, providing students with the latest technology and modern workspaces.

Year-round programming will provide access to education and development opportunities for students to discover and pursue their passions.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Through innovative programming in an inspiring learning environment, TGR Foundation will provide opportunities to help local students thrive in school and life.

The TGR Learning Lab will feature non-traditional class offerings taught using engaging, hands-on project-based methods.

The classes that will be offered, such as robotics, engineering, artificial intelligence, podcasting and drone technology, are designed to expose students to today’s STEM-based careers.

Ongoing college access and career readiness programming will be available to prepare students for higher education, provide real-world experiences and build transferable skills.
TGR LEARNING LAB
TUTORING & ENRICHMENT
The TGR Learning Lab will support students from the local community, providing access to education in a positive and supportive learning environment. 1st – 4th grade students are provided vital educational resources and ongoing support in local schools during the school year help close the achievement gap through:
- Reading, writing and math tutoring
- Educational enrichment workshops and summer camps
- Social emotional learning and support programming
- Family fun days and community events
TGR DESIGN
Short Course
TGR Design will build a short course to provide golf access and opportunities for the community to learn and practice. It will be accessible to golfers of all ages and abilities, introducing new players to the sport. Year-round programming will be available at the short course to build young golfers’ skills while helping them develop the game’s core values.

2024 -2025 Community Fests | Saturdays
The TGR Learning Lab is excited to welcome 1st-4th grade students to our monthly Saturday Community Fests! These are free drop off events that take place from 1-3 p.m. and offer crafts, games, special projects and guaranteed fun!
Each event will take place at West Philadelphia Achievement Charter Elementary School located at 6701 Callowhill.

Beyond the Numbers: AI & Data Science in the K-12 Classroom
Thursday, October 17 | 4 – 5 p.m. PT / 7 – 8 p.m. ET
Join TGR Foundation and Databot for a fast paced 60-minute workshop as we explore the critical need for data literacy in the K12 classroom and some exciting ways to leverage AI for that purpose.
Data surrounds us and is being collected at an astounding rate. It’s in the air we breathe, the loyalty card we use at the grocery store and the television shows we watch. AI consumes this extraordinary amount of information and uses it to solve problems and execute tasks. Join us in this highly interactive workshop to experience several unique applications of AI in the K12 classroom while you have fun solving a data-rich mystery with your colleagues. All participants will receive free software and lesson resources to take an exciting “Data Mystery” back to their classroom.
By joining this workshop, educators will:
- Understand how data and AI intersect and the implications for student learning
- Experience an interactive lesson focused on the application of AI in K-12 education
- Leave with free resources in data and AI to take back to the classroom
Design Process in Action
Thursday, November 14 | 4 – 5 p.m. PT / 7 – 8 p.m. ET
Join TGR Foundation as we take a deep dive into design thinking and discover how it can support students’ learning goals. A human-centered approach to problem-solving that begins with developing empathy for those facing a particular challenge, design thinking serves as a framework that helps to define problems, empathize with others, develop prototypes of possible solutions and hone those prototypes through multiple iterations until a viable solution is generated.
By joining this interactive workshop, educators will:
- Explore the steps of the human-centered design process
- Engage in an activity that incorporates elements of the Design Process
- Reflect on the Design Process as a way to embrace inquiry
Creating Thinking Classrooms
Thursday, December 12 | 4 – 5 p.m. PT / 7 – 8 p.m. ET
Join TGR Foundation for an engaging and interactive workshop designed for educators who are passionate about fostering critical thinking and creativity in their classrooms. This workshop will provide you with practical strategies and tools to cultivate an environment where students are encouraged to think deeply, ask questions and explore ideas.
By joining this interactive workshop, educators will:
- Learn about the principles that define a thinking classroom and how they can be applied.
- Discover techniques to help students develop critical thinking skills to solve problems.
- Encourage student inquiry and engagement by making a more student-centered environment.
- Explore ways to create collaborative learning workspaces.

Restoring Philadelphia's Most Historic Public Golf Course

Cobbs Creek Golf Course once hosted Tour events and inspired Charlie Sifford, but you wouldn't know it if you saw it today. The TGR Foundation is setting out to make this historic course a community hub once again and is building the second TGR Learning Lab offering STEM programs for children in the community while expanding TGR Foundation's reach.
Cobbs Creek Foundation breaks ground on historic golf course

Cobbs Creek Foundation broke ground on the redevelopment of the Cobbs Creek Golf Course, which was home to prominent African-American golfers in the 1950s and ‘60s. The initial phases of construction will include creating a reservoir and pumphouse, along with the TGR Learning Lab and a driving range building.

The Cobbs Creek Foundation, which is funding the plan, held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of work on the TGR Learning Lab, a part of the project that is getting support from Tiger Woods' educational foundation.
