PREPARING STUDENTS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

TGR Foundation’s college access programming supports high school students interested in careers that require post-secondary education. Through a variety of workshops and resources, students nationwide receive the support needed to thrive in school and life.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

To prepare students for the journey to and through higher education, TGR Foundation’s college access programming provides students and their families coaching on the core elements of the college application, admissions and financial aid processes including:

  • College application support

  • Financial aid workshops

  • Admissions counseling

  • Intensive college prep academies

Career and College

BOUND ACADEMY

Each summer the TGR Foundation College Bound Academy prepares rising high school seniors with tools and resources to pursue their post-secondary academic aspirations. This intensive, multi-day experience provides students with the guidance and resources needed for their journey. After participating in College Bound Academy, 88% of students feel better prepared to attend college.

WORKSHOPS & RESOURCES

Workshops are available to students year-round at the TGR Learning Lab, local high schools and virtually. All sessions are designed to help students gain the information, understanding and support needed to prepare for and succeed in college. Panels and recruitment events with university admissions officers throughout the year to expose students to colleges that align with their academic and career interests.

QuestBridge Application Drop-in Session Part 1

Wednesday, August 28  | 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. PT

Open to high school seniors, this interactive drop-in session is designed to help you navigate the QuestBridge National Match Program application process. You’ll have access to one-on-one support to ask questions and gain guidance.

Virtual EVENTS

Tuesday, August 13  | HBCU Informational Session 

3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. ET

Featuring current students, alumni and parents from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), this workshop will provide insights into the  application process, student life experiences and benefits of HBCU education and experiences after graduation.

Parents and high school students are welcome to join us for the virtual programming.

Wednesday, August 14 | Scholarship Information Session  

4:30 – 5:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. ET

Open to high school seniors this session will provide information about the QuestBridge National College Match Program and Posse Foundation scholarship opportunities. The workshop will dive into the application process and while providing tips and best practices.

Thursday, August 22 | Student Athlete Panel 

2 p.m. – 3 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. ET

Featuring student athletes, trainers and college coaches, this session will provide a crash course to achieve success

as a  collegiate athlete. The discussion will cover topics from the recruiting and application processes to  life as a student – athlete.
