Genesis Open highlights TGR Learning Lab Student Artists

As Genesis Open guests visit the Family Village to see if their “STEM Game is on Par,” students from our flagship TGR Learning Lab will have their artwork on display. In fall of 2018 while 7-12 grade students enrolled in our Expanded Learning Program explored college and career opportunities many rose to the challenge of our inaugural graphic design competition.

Teens Unite to Prioritize Mental Health and Stop Violence

TGR Foundation recognizes the importance of mindfulness in youth education and incorporates the practice into our curriculum at TGR Learning Labs. We’re proud to support Adam Avin in his quest to spread awareness and best practices for implementing mindfulness in daily activities. At 14 years old, Adam has founded the Kids Association for Mindfulness in Education and an upcoming online Mindful Kids Peace Summit, a 5 day program for teens ages 11-17, offered in schools internationally.

Dr. Katherine Bihr shares the power and purpose of a mentor

Last fall,TGR Foundationwelcomed 25 college freshmen to the Earl Woods Scholar Program. Each scholar is matched with a dedicated mentor who will support and guide them through their college years and beyond. The mentorship component of the program has proven to be both valuable and memorable for our students, particularly those that leave home for the first time.

Scholar Voices: An original Earl Woods Scholar guides the next generation

We called ourselves “The First Five.” That summer of 2008, Avni, Omar, Pau, Stephanie and I (thought we) were the coolest kids at the TGR Learning Lab. In our pre-planned, color-coordinated outfits, we assisted teachers and students in building mouse trap cars and launching rockets.
Interspersed with all the fun, we learned from community and business leaders how to build our résumés, network with professionals and present with confidence. I’m not entirely sure, but I think that was the last time I ended a presentation with an awkward grin and a “…So yeah.” In my current position as an Academic Counselor at UC Irvine, I enjoy mentoring students through college and toward their graduate school and career goals.

Beyond words: How TGR Foundation defined its vision, mission and values in 2018

Rick Singer President

2018 has been a year with many highlights for TGR Foundation. Our programs and events continued to perform extremely well, allowing us to reach milestones and achieve ambitious goals. Although we’ve celebrated expansions within each of our programs domestically and internationally, I think our most important accomplishment in 2018 was codifying TGR Foundation’s mission, vision and values – the strategic framework that guides all that we do. That framework is critical to the success and long-term viability of any organization. If carefully created and truly followed, it defines who you are, what you do and how you do it, which in turn ensures a sustainable enterprise that can succeed for generations.
