This brand new website, www.tgreduexplore.org, which can be accessed by any computer or mobile device so teachers, students and families can learn and explore no matter the environment, is far from static. Content will be added regularly so that educators can continue accessing and implementing new lesson plans, digital modules, activities, training videos and more. TGR EDU: Explore is a living, breathing website that will cater to the ever-changing environment in which educators increasingly find themselves.

Available immediately will be a variety of learning tools and activities:

College Blueprint is a one-of-a-kind digital, self-paced module intended for high school students that will explore the college application and admissions process. Applying to college is a daunting task for any student, but especially those in underserved areas where college is often seen as out of reach. College Blueprint aims to level the playing field by providing vital information in an engaging format. Throughout the 30-40 minutes, students will learn about how to pick the right college that suits their needs, types and sources of financial aid, what steps are taken when applying to college and much more. An accompanying Educator Guide will walk teachers and counselors through the module and provide tips to maximize learning.

Academic Resume is a college-access extension activity to help empower students to recognize their academic achievements and social contribution via an engaging lesson that focuses on leadership. Not only will creating an academic resume help students as they prepare for applying to college, resume writing is a critical skill needed throughout life. Introducing students to this idea early on will set them up for success in college and the workforce.

Personal Statement is another college-access extension activity that will help students identify their strengths, learn about the stages of the writing process and draft a personal statement essay that can be used for college applications. Through unique hands-on activities and thoughtful discussion questions, students will be able to recognize and share their talents and create powerful responses to college application essay prompts.

Career Path is an activity designed to have students in middle and high school explore the multitude of career options available to them. The goal of the activity is to expose students to future pathways like never before so that they understand the opportunities that are available to them and can identify the steps needed for success.

Find Your Passion is an activity to help students figure out what their strengths are, what they are passionate about and how to create meaningful goals. This focus on positive youth development is a pillar of Tiger Woods Foundation programming. We believe that before students can master content or succeed in college they need to feel empowered and confident to aim big.

Family Discussion Starter – College Access is an activity for parents and students to help them navigate the college admissions process through important discussions, tips and strategies. Oftentimes the parent is left in the dark with how to assist their child before going off to college. This activity aims to demystify the process and support first-generation college students in creating a legacy of higher education for their families.

Starting this spring, additional resources will be going up on TGR EDU: Explore, including digital modules and lesson plans to reinforce STEM learning, and professional development training videos for teachers that will focus on high-quality, research-based teaching strategies and hands-on STEM content. In the future, educators and students can expect new content regularly, such as a live Virtual Field Trip later this year that will transport thousands of students to an innovative workplace to get a behind-the-scenes look at exciting careers in STEM.

A live webinar, jointly hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation and Discovery Education, will take place Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. PST to fully introduce the partnership, the new digital platform and what to expect in the years to come. You can register now at https://tgredu.eventbrite.com/.
