TGR Foundation announces new Find Your Grind Foundation partnership
Today, TGR Foundation, A Tiger Woods Charity, announced a new partnership with Find Your Grind Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Los Angeles-based self-discovery and career exploration platform, Find Your Grind. The multi-year partnership brings together two organizations with a shared mission to help young people discover who they are, identify their strengths and interests and offer multiple pathways to personal and professional success.
TGR Foundation celebrates two million students reached through education programs
After years of reaching young people across the country through education and youth development programs, Tiger Woods challenged his foundation “to make bold choices, explore unchartered territory and reach millions of kids around the world.” Now in its 25th anniversary year, TGR Foundation has met his challenge and celebrates two million students reached.
TGR Foundation launches Pathways Forward initiative, celebrates 25 years
In 1996, when Tiger and his parents launched TGR Foundation, they set out to do something profoundly simple yet deeply impactful – give kids hope. As we enter into TGR Foundation’s 25th anniversary, at an unprecedented time when hardships feel insurmountable, the ability to give kids from our most vulnerable communities a sense of hope feels all the more urgent and critical.
With 2021 marking a milestone year for the foundation, we look to our founder to share his vision for our next chapter. Tiger’s goal for us, once again, is inherently simple yet visionary – to provide young people with a clear path to personal excellence and professional success. While this next chapter of the foundation’s journey is my first at the helm of the organization, the groundwork has been long established.
2020: A Year of Opportunity
“An unprecedented year”
We’ve heard that phrase many times this year, and although it’s a reflective sentiment for the pandemic, it’s also cause to acknowledge diversity, ensure equity and to seek inclusivity – individually and collectively.
TGR Foundation has learned a lot in 2020, and I am proud to share how we advanced our programmatic work in new and still impactful ways.
Student Spotlight: How the TGR Learning Lab impacted my discovery and path to engineering
When she walked through the doors of the TGR Learning Lab (TGRLL) as a fifth grader, Amelie Jimenez knew she had found the perfect space to explore all her interests. Now a 17-year-old junior at Los Angeles Unified School District’s Bell High School in Bell, Ca, Amelie can’t imagine her educational journey without the support of the staff, teachers and classes that have shaped and guided her education journey. With plans of studying engineering one day, Amelie reflects on her favorite in-person and virtual classes, the lessons she’s learned from COVID-19 and why every student should participate in TGR Learning Lab programs.

Tiger Woods’ TGR Foundation hits notable milestone as it celebrates its 25th anniversary
As far as golf goes, Riviera Country Club has not been friendly to Tiger Woods. At least, not as friendly as other golf courses—he does have a runner-up and seven other top-20 finishes at this kikuyu-covered gem, but he’s played 13 tournaments here and left without the trophy 13 times. It’s the most starts he’s made in a single PGA Tour event without a victory.
Woods’ relationship with Riv, however, extends much deeper than a scorecard. It’s where he made his first tour start, as a rail-thin 16-year-old in 1992. It’s a traffic-dependent hour away from where Tiger honed his game, at the Navy Golf Course in Cypress. And since 2017 it has hosted his event, the Genesis Invitational, which has coincided with major growth for his TGR Foundation.

Tiger Woods' TGR Foundation Celebrates Two Big Milestones in Quest to Help Students
Tiger Woods is hosting the world's best golfers in Los Angeles at the Genesis Invitational, and while Tiger is recovering from another back surgery, the spotlight is still shining on his TGR Foundation, which is celebrating two milestones.
The Foundation is turning 25 years old and has now impacted over two million students, many in Southern California.
Beyond Sport
TGR Foundation keeps youth active and engaged in STEM
A 2018 report by the White House Committee on STEM Education and the National Science and Technology Council, reiterated that societal success requires a STEM-literate modern workforce that is adept at navigating an increasingly high-tech, digital and connected world. However, data from a test commonly taken by US college-bound high school students (the ACT) found that only 20% are ready for courses typically required for a STEM major.
Since the start of school closures due to COVID-19, Sport and STEM Alliance member, the TGR Foundation - A Tiger Woods Charity, has pivoted its TGR Learning Lab programs to a complete virtual format while continuing to keep students engaged in learning and active beyond their academic studies.

The 1,000-mile drive that changed Tiger Woods' foundation
Tiger Woods wasn’t sleeping because no one could. The country had been sucker-punched, and it was dazed, disoriented. So instead of enjoying the comforts of a bed before a World Golf Championship at Bellerive Country Club, Woods found himself at a gas station in the dark of night on Sept. 12, 2001, hours away from St. Louis, civilization and cell phone service. He had set off for Isleworth, his home, welcoming the 1,000-mile that led to a change in his foundation to have an impact beyond golf.

TGR Foundation Helps Students Through College Admissions
While Tiger Woods challenges his legacy on the golf course, his legacy is being reaffirmed in Anaheim.

The Learning Lab takes an emphasis in science and promotes fields such as engineering and technology. Since its inception, the Learning Lab has helped more than 150,000 children.
